Black Ant Barn – a unique and relaxed venue

The Black Ant Barn is available exclusively for functions of more than 40 guests.

 

We can cater for up to 118 guests banquet style and 200 for cocktail functions.

There is no venue charge and Black Ant Gourmet Catering will fulfill all of your food and beverage requirements on-site. 

Menus are custom-made and take into account seasonal produce and dietary requirements.

Black Ant Gourmet – owned and operated by Noosa local, Jodie Willliams and her Black Ant team – decided to expand their very busy off-site catering service to also include on-site catering at the Black Ant Barn at the Kin Kin General Store.

Just 30 minutes’ drive from Noosa, Cooroy and Gympie, the Black Ant Barn function space is perfect for guests who want soak-up the relaxed country atmosphere, while enjoying the company of friends, family and colleagues over a quality dining experience.

The alfresco undercover dining space overlooks stunning rural views and is your private space for the afternoon or evening. We have a neutral pallette of white and off-white vintage themes we provide in terms of styling, so you can add your final touches of colour and personalise.

 Airbnb accommodation, cabins and camping with hot showers are available within walking distance. Affordable bus transport packages can be organised  for larger groups with pick-up and drop off to the Noosa, Cooroy and Gympie regions.

 Weddings

There are several options to exchange your vows in Kin Kin, including at Broadcroft Garden, our quaint local church, or even on-site in our open space garden area.

Black Ant Gourmet catering experiences

Pre-organised drink packages available for all tastes and budgets. Local beer and ginger beer on tap, cocktails, quality wines, sparklings, bottled beer and spirits. Tabs, packages or pay as you go.

Canapes package – light nibbles – Choose 6 to be served over a 1 hour food service. $15 / head avg.

Three course deluxe dining experience – Menu designed for you after consult. Share entrée for 4 ( up grade to 2 choices of entrée) , 4 choice main course, 3 choice dessert option $55/ hd avg.
Finger or Fork food – a full meal served over 2.5 hours – 8 different items. Designed for stand-up groups that can mingle with an option to sit for speeches or presentation. $26 / hd avg.
Feel free to request a particular menu you have in mind.

There is an 8% increase for off-site events due to packing, handling and transport expenses.

Smokey BBQ Buffet – 3 BBQ meats, 5 salads, one potato dish all served with dinner rolls, sauces, condiments and sides to suit meats chosen. Upgrade your buffet by starting with canapes or share entrée and finish with one of our amazing dessert options. $28 / hd avg. with canape entrée or dessert extra $6 / hd avg.
Two course dining experience – share entrée followed by alternate drop main course with vegetarian option (or upgrade to a 4 choice main meal where waitress takes each guest’s order). $45 / hd

Black Ant Gourmet Catering operates across the Sunshine Coast with a wide variety of catering options – finger food parties, spit roast functions, buffet theme dinners, formal sit-down dinners …

With 30 years experience chefing in Noosa and 15 years’ experience catering in the Noosa shire and beyond, no off-site job is too big or too small, from 30 people to 420 people stand-up or sit-down. We specialise in quality country weddings, birthdays and corporate functions.

We understand that being flexible with catering menu options is important. Not only do our clients have their own taste and style, but the ability to cater at different venues gives us an opportunity to alter menus to suit those venues and create the right ambience.

Utilising Jodie’s extensive chef and catering background, you can tailor your menu and be part of the Farm to Plate experience at your own home or venue.
